Saxofourte
Saxophone Quartets have an inferior standing in chamber music. One might not know too much about it. In case of SAXOFOURTE this can be seen as an advantage, because if you knew something you have to forget it anyway.
SAXOFOURTE is different. The easy basic concept, Saxophone Quartet - one women, three men, four saxophones - turns out to be an unforgettable musical treat which cannot be evaded by the audience.
SAXOFOURTE is made up of four experts who are all classically skilled, and joined through collective joy for the new and unheard. We talk about four musical adventurers who gladly defy conventions and blow up genre boundaries to redefine the term "cross over".
Once you hear SAXOFOURTE, you will not trust your ears. Musical principles will be disarranged and new sound dimensions developed. Sometimes you get the idea of an chamber orchestra and all of a sudden you hear a Big Band. The sound changes easily between sensually warm and shiny and dazzling. The repertoire opens up from classic to avantgarde, from Bach to Zappa, from Piazzolla to Michael Nymann and back again.
