GOLD! Well, un-lacquered actually.

They were one of the biggest bands of the 80s and now reformed with all five original members, a new album in the works and sell-out world tour, Spandau Ballet are preparing to top the charts and dominate our TV screens once again.
It's 26 years since the band released their multi-million selling hit single 'Gold' and while the flamboyant 'New Romantics' outfits have gone, the band's saxophonist and founder member Steve Norman has been busy polishing his new Yamaha custom saxes in readiness to take centre stage once again. Thanks to help from Yamaha's sax expert Stephen Adcock who has been working closely with Steve, he is now set up with brand new Yamaha Custom Soprano, Alto and Tenor saxophones. The results can be heard on the band's new album and Steve will be using them throughout the tour.
While many contemporary pop bands use brass players in the studio or for live shows, Steve Norman is among an elite group of pop sax players to actually be a fully fledged member of the band. His trademark, memorable solos on the likes of 'True' and 'Gold' are so well known note by note, that just as singers stop singing to allow the audience to sing a chorus, if Steve Norman were to stop playing when his solo is about to kick in, there's no doubt that the audience would be able to hum every note.
Offering excellent value for money, Yamaha's extensive range of Custom Saxophones have become the choice of some of the world's foremost artists. Thanks to Yamaha's saxophone heritage, manufacturing process and design, the Saxophone world has been revolutionised, with attention to detail and a legendary quest for continual improvement in performance and manufacturing techniques.
Yamaha's sax website showcases the full range of Yamaha's Pro custom saxophones and offers a 'Who's Who?' on artists, 'Where to Go?' for events, plus intuitive artist interviews, news, hints and tips. Yamaha Custom Sax models played by Steve Norman are the YTS82ZUL tenor sax (unlacquered) with a Gold plated G1 neck, the YAS875EXB alto sax (black lacquer) with a G1 neck and the YSS875EXB soprano sax (black lacquer) with a G2 neck.
